Why is rooting such a long process on Z5C?

I come from a line of Nexus devices and rooting has never been easier for me until I came across a Sony device. Read they were a developer friendly devices but when following the steps it's such a hassle. Ive unlocked the bootloader but what's with the having to revert back to older firmware and do I really need to backup DRMs? I'm not much for purchasing music online so does it matter? Is there a quick method without having to shuffle back and forth and backing up DRMs? I just need titanium backup pro and to uninstall bloatwares. Appreciate any help.
