I had been using a ZE551KL (Zenfone 2 Laser) and had been able to tweak the thermal config file in /system/etc to keep overheating down. After my wife's Nexus 4 finally bit the dust, I gave her the Z2L and got a Z2 for myself (she wants better camera and I got 4GB/64GB instead of 3GB/32GB, so we both won.)
I know the Z2 has an x86 instead of ARM, but I don't know if the throttling can be managed the same way. Is this possible with the Z2, or is it hardwired into the processor?
